Experience Exceptional Ambience with Hotel Lighting Designer Illuminationworks
For our 6th 21c Museum Hotel as hotel lighting designer, we were challenged with transforming a former hardware store and warehouse into a 21st-century boutique hotel and destination restaurant. The adaptive reuse project highlights the history of the Gray & Dudley Hardware Company building while creating a contemporary experience reflecting the vibrancy of Nashville today.
Our lighting design brings a sense of intimacy to the spectacular double-height ballroom and a strong connection with the lobby and entry corridor, which overlook the space from the floor above. The lighting balances expansive spacial volumes - ideal for displaying large-scale art - while enhancing the hospitality function of an area used for private events & dining.
The guest floor corridors & light wells utilise special light fittings that create an optical illusion of concentric square patterns when viewed from any direction. The main stair and gym both incorporate back-lit, perforated metal screens to help open up more confined spaces.
